Portage Public Schools is one of the most highly regarded school districts in Southwest Michigan, serving approximately 8,500 students across eight elementary schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, and an alternative high school. The district consistently ranks among the top public school systems in the Kalamazoo area and is known for strong academics, athletics, and college preparation opportunities.
The district includes Portage Northern High School and Portage Central High School, both of which offer International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and a wide variety of Advanced Placement, arts, and extracurricular opportunities.
